The Siberian Journal of Philosophy was founded in 2001 as the “Vestnik of NSU. Series: Philosophy and Law" (chief editor – V. Diev, ISSN), as one of the significant elements of the development of professional communities of philosophy and law faculties of NSU, aiming at proper positioning of NSU in these subject areas within the Russian and international scientific communities. In 2003 the journal was divided into two: “Vestnik of NSU. Series: Philosophy "(chief editor – V. Diev, ISSN 1818-796X) and "Vestnik of NSU. Series: Law" (chief editor – V. Kurcheev, ISSN 1818-7986). In 2015, in connection with the renaming and changes in the structure of NSU, the journal “Vestnik NSU. Series: Philosophy" was renamed into the “Siberian Journal of Philosophy" (chief editor - VS Diev, ISSN 2541-7517).
